Welcome to the Warwick House Teachers’ Blog

The Interactive Whiteboards  (IWBs) have now been with us for over nine months and I’m sure, as a teaching collective in three thriving centres, we have learnt many new ways of using them and have tried out new resources from the Web. We may have mentioned them to other teachers and have commented on who they could be for and what use they are.

Hopefully this will be a space where we can share resources, comments on them and ask any questions about them to the person who shared the resource, beyond our immediate colleagues.
Probably the most important way that we can incorporate new repertoires into our teaching is to dialogue and suggest things, as we would do face to face. The only difference here is that we can share our ideas and opinions without having to be in the same place at the same time.

Some of these activities may be seen as fun activities to finish a class, others may be original ways to introduce a type of class. Other resources may be whole classes which offer a different way of dealing with sat reading which can be used in addition to the course book.

Do remember, that it is not only children who like to have fun. Adults and teenagers may find different approaches useful, too. The IWBs and the internet have a huge potential to stimulate students into new ways of learning.

Two words of caution before we start posting: please do use legal resources and if you do copy (digitally) something please do put the source from where you obtained it.

Once again welcome to the blog cum resource bank. We are looking forward to sharing our ideas and working together on this blog. Who knows, it might even replace training meetings.
